Snowy Colorado Winter Wedding with Laura & Miguel

Snowy Colorado Winter Wedding – New Years Eve 2018

10 degrees and snowy, that’s what I remember most about this Colorado winter wedding.  That, and how sweet the group of family and friends were that came to celebrate with Laura and Miguel.  They decided to get married on New Years Eve.  The ceremony and reception was indoors at Christies of Genesee, which was warm and comfortable.  They also wanted some outdoor photos before the ceremony somewhere nearby, so we went to Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater for portraits.

Of course we didn’t know what the weather was going to be like, but figured if it snowed the red rocks and snow would be a beautiful backdrop.  Toes and fingers were cold for everyone as we took photos outside in the snowy landscape on this winter day.  Red Rocks Park has a small “Outpost” store with memorabilia of concerts and bands that have played there in the amphitheater.  Consequently, this was a perfect refuge for us.  Family members and those in the wedding party took turns huddling in the warm indoor space in between taking photographs.

Fun Things that stick out in my mind from their wedding day

Laura, a few weeks before the wedding, had a little baby boy.  It was so cool to see him passed around to different family and friends throughout the day.  In my mind it was like celebrating some big life moments all together with their closest and most favorite people.  Laura and Miguel said their vows to one another and started a new chapter in their lives as husband and wife.  The also were celebrating the merging of their family with her two kids and the birth of their new son.

Winter Wedding Theme & Details

This snowy Colorado winter wedding had a Christmas style to the details.  Flowers and centerpieces done by PrivĂ© Events featured deep red and blush colors with pine cones and pine branches and greenery.  The ladies in the wedding party wore elegant forest green dresses and Laura had adorable red flats for her shoes.  The guys had deep blue suits with green ties expect for Miguel who’s tie was gold.  And the gifts they gave out were super cute as well with a winter theme.  Red throw blankets with their wedding date on them.

Thanks Laura & Miguel!

It was such a pleasure to share in this day with you.  Thanks for braving the snow and being adventurous.  I’m sure this crazy wonderful day will be a lasting memory that you’ll share with your kids for many years.  Congrats on the new family member and starting this new time together as husband and wife.  Much love to you guys!!
